Issues: Small Business & Local Economy
Small businesses are the heart of Glendale — from family-owned shops and restaurants to professional services and local employers. They create jobs, keep neighborhoods vibrant, and generate the revenue the City relies on to fund public safety, infrastructure, and community services.
But too many business owners face slow permitting, confusing rules, rising costs, and unnecessary delays. When businesses struggle, the entire city feels it. Glendale needs leadership that understands how the local economy actually works and how to help it grow responsibly.
Strong businesses. Local jobs. A healthier city economy.
Core Principle: When small businesses succeed, Glendale succeeds. City Hall should be a partner — not an obstacle.
Let’s get Ronnie elected.
Why I’m Prepared to Lead on the Local Economy
For 34 years, I have worked in residential and commercial lending, helping business owners, entrepreneurs, and property owners navigate economic cycles, expansion, and uncertainty. I’ve seen firsthand what allows businesses to grow — and what holds them back.
I understand how access to capital, predictable rules, efficient permitting, and economic confidence directly affect whether a business survives, expands, or leaves a city. That real-world experience is what I bring to Glendale City Council.
Real Economic Experience

My Plan to Strengthen Parks, Open Space & Youth Sports in Glendale
1) Streamline Permitting and Reduce Red Tape
Time is money for small businesses. Delays cost jobs, investment, and opportunity.
I will advocate for:
1) Faster, clearer permitting timelines
2) One-stop guidance so business owners know exactly what’s required
3) Better coordination between City departments
4) Online tools that make applications and tracking easier
Goal: Help businesses open, expand, and operate without unnecessary delays.
2) Use Technology to Support City Staff and Serve Businesses Better
Technology should improve service — not replace people.
I support:
1) Online applications and permit tracking
2) Transparent status updates so business owners aren’t left guessing
3) Tools that help City staff process requests more efficiently
Important: Technology should support City employees, not replace them.
3) Keep Glendale Competitive for Investment and Jobs
Glendale competes with nearby cities for businesses, jobs, and tax revenue. We must remain attractive without lowering standards.
I will support:
1) Predictable rules that give businesses confidence to invest
2) Smart incentives where appropriate to attract quality employers
3) Encouraging redevelopment of underused properties
4) Supporting industries that create long-term jobs
Goal: Grow the tax base responsibly without raising taxes.
4) Support Local Hiring and Workforce Growth
A strong economy means opportunity for residents.
I will push for:
1) Partnerships with local schools and workforce programs
2) Support for job training tied to local employer needs
3) Encouraging businesses that invest in local workers
5) Improve Commercial Corridors and Business Districts
Clean, safe, accessible business areas attract customers and investment.
I will support:
1) Better lighting, cleanliness, and safety near business corridors
2) Parking solutions that support customers and employees
3) Traffic planning that helps, not hurts, local commerce
6) Make Sure Economic Growth Supports the City Budget
A strong local economy helps Glendale pay for services without burdening residents.
I support policies that:
1) Grow sales and business tax revenue
2) Encourage long-term investment, not short-term speculation
3) Strengthen the City’s financial stability
Goal: A stronger economy that supports public safety, infrastructure, and services.
What This Plan Will NOT Do
Raise taxes on small businesses
Add unnecessary regulations
Ignore business owners’ concerns
Favor outside interests over local entrepreneurs
