Meet Ronnie Gharibian
I'm Ronnie Gharibian
Candidate for Glendale City Council · 2026
Glendale isn’t just where I live, it’s where my story began.
Where it began
I am the son of an immigrant family and the youngest of four siblings. More than 43 years ago, my family came to the United States in search of peace, opportunity, and a better future. When I was 15 years old, we put down roots in Glendale. I attended Hoover High School, built lifelong friendships, and learned firsthand the values of hard work, responsibility, and community that continue to guide me today.
More than three decades ago, I started a small finance business in Glendale alongside my brother. What began as a family effort grew into a lifelong career centered on helping people. I’ve worked with first-time homebuyers, small business owners, and families striving to build stability and security. Over the years, I’ve helped thousands of residents navigate some of the most important financial decisions of their lives—always guided by the belief that honest advice and education can change outcomes. Over time, our business expanded to serve clients in 34 states nationwide and worked with mortgage-backed securities firms around the world, giving me a strong understanding of both local needs and broader economic forces.
My commitment to Glendale has always gone beyond my professional work.
For decades, I’ve been involved in youth sports leagues, scouting programs, nonprofit boards, and community organizations. I later served as Chair of Glendale ANCA, working closely with residents, City Council members, and city staff to advocate for neighborhood priorities and practical solutions.
For the past eight years, I’ve served as a Commissioner on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Board. In that role, I’ve helped ensure millions of federal dollars are directed to nonprofits serving Glendale’s most vulnerable residents. These funds support food banks, homelessness prevention, mental health services, youth and senior programs, and survivors of domestic violence, while also improving parks and public spaces for families and children.
I’m also proud to serve on the Glendale Police Foundation, supporting public safety initiatives and the Glendale Police Department’s K-9 Unit to help ensure our officers have the resources they need to keep our community safe.
Over 20 years working directly on the issues that matter to our community
From public safety and housing affordability to environmental protection, utilities, open space, and responsible growth, I bring real experience and a practical, solutions-focused perspective. I’ve worked closely with the City of Glendale, Glendale Community College, and Glendale Unified School District to help advance policies that balance fiscal responsibility with quality of life.
I believe local government works best when leaders listen, collaborate, and put residents first. Having grown up in Glendale, built a business here, and spent decades serving this community, I am committed to protecting Glendale’s character while building a city that is safe, affordable, and welcoming for future generations.
